Personal Training & Injury Prevention

Let us help you along your fitness journey with our highly experienced personal trainer in our friendly private gym. 

I initially saw Emily for physiotherapy and then moved on to working with Martin as a personal trainer with a view to improving my my fitness and strength to overcome an injury. I have made great progress in just a few months and Martin has kept me motivated with a range of exercises with gentle increments to slowly improve strength. The sessions are enjoyable and he has a positive attitude to fitness and health. He has an excellent knowledge and can adjust exercises to compensate for any physical health problems. The exercise routines are clearly explained and easy to follow, even if you have had no previous experience. I thoroughly recommend the team at Emily the Physio to support your fitness and health development.

What to expect

What happens in a session

In your initial assessment you'll have a thorough discussion with Martin to find out what your health goals are. There will also be a physical assessment to get a baseline of your current fitness levels. Don't worry! No bleep test here!

Why Personal Training?

Personal training is a great way to have a professional create an effective and fun programme to get you to your fitness goal. It is also a great way to assess your current routine - checking your form, helping with progressions and ensuring your nutrition levels are adequate for your training. 

Who can come to personal training?

Anyone! We work with clients who have never exercised before to professional athletes needing strengthening to help their sport. We also pride ourselves on having a strong multidisciplinary approach to our practice. Martin works closely with our physiotherapists and dietitian to help clients who may have more complex needs to get the benefits of exercise in a safe way including post surgery, cardiac concerns, injury rehabilitation and pre/postnatal.

Martin Randall

Martin has been a certified personal trainer for a number of years and has experience working with people of all walks of life and exercise experience. He also specialises in working with people with long term conditions and GP referrals. 

Qualifications include:
Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training
Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Clients with Long Term Conditions
Senior Fitness Specialist (Older Adults)
Certified Animal Flow Instructor
Vegetarian, Vegan & Plant-based Nutrition
