Caesarean Scar Treatment

Improve sensation, reduce tightness and get back to exercise safely and effectively!

I saw Emily for the Mummy MOT a couple of months after having an emergency C-section. She was so helpful and knowledgeable and gave me some fantastic advice on how to improve the numbness and redness of my scar and how to get back to exercise. I am now nearly 8 months postpartum, my scar has almost disappeared! (After following Emily's advice on scar massage and contrasting sensations). Emily has made me feel confident to fully return to exercise after a follow up appointment and has also given me so much advice on related women's health issues. I will definitely be returning for another Mummy MOT after baby number 2!

What to expect

Why should I get my scar treated?

Improve your sensation, reduce tightness, reduce risk of back pains or pelvic concerns.

What happens in the session?

We'll assess your scar, look at your movement and discuss your concerns. Then provide treatment, advice on how to look after your scar at home and a rehabilitation programme.

How soon after having a baby can I have the session?

We recommend seeing clients from 6 weeks and at any point afterwards (even 20 years!). The first 2 years after birth your scar will be the most changeable. After this the results still happen - just a bit slower.

Who is providing the session?

Our resident specialist physiotherapist Emily.
